Horticulture Services

The horticulturist is a seasonal position within the County of Wetaskiwin and runs from April 1 to October 31 every year. The horticulturist is available to provide advice on the cultivation of trees, fruits, flowers, vegetables and general landscaping. Insects, plant diseases, and weed identification and recommendations for their control are also available to County residents. On-site farm visits are made, when necessary, to diagnose insect and disease problems or for recommendations in shelterbelt siting and layout.

Horticulture Seminars

Many seminars related to pests and diseases, shelterbelt planning, landscaping, working well, raising fish in dugouts and other topics are hosted annually. If there is a particular subject matter that you would be interested in, please contact the horticulturist with your suggestions.
