Project Description: 
Bridge File 8525, located on Range Road 261 south of Highway 13, is scheduled for replacement as part of the County of Wetaskiwin's Bridge Capital Plan. The existing 67-year-old single-span bridge has reached the end of its service life and will be replaced with a new culvert structure to improve long-term safety, reliability, and drainage capacity.
Construction is scheduled to begin on June 22, 2026, and is expected to be completed by July 29, 2026. During construction, Range Road 261 south of Highway 13 will be closed to traffic, with a signed detour route in place.

Project Update (as of July 11, 2026)
- The existing bridge has been removed.
- Excavation is complete, including the removal of the existing piles.
- Excavation to the subbase has been completed, and the new culvert trench has been prepared.
- New twin culverts have been assembled and installed.
- Backfilling operations are now underway.
- Construction remains on schedule, with completion anticipated by the end of July, weather permitting.
- Construction crews will be on-site for approximately June 22 to the end of July. This timeline does not include days when work cannot proceed due to inclement weather.
- Road Closure effective June 22 to July 29, 2026 (inclusive) for the bridge replacement.
- Road Detour will be in effect. Please see map provided.
