Crews begin final preparations for Phase 2 of the Alder Flats road project the week of May 4, 2026.
- Street sweeping and other prep work will take place ahead of paving.
- Crews will be preparing the roadway for the final layer of asphalt (top lift).
- Line painting to follow top lift of asphalt.
- Equipment may start arriving near the arena area.
Work is expected to get underway soon, with the goal of completing the project before the May long weekend.
- As this is a grading project, the sidewalk and one or two traffic lanes may be closed at times. Drivers will be required to reduce speed and be prepared to stop.
- When one lane is closed, a flag person will direct traffic. If two lanes are closed, an on-site detour road will be provided.
- Drivers may experience discomfort due to rough road conditions and dust during the construction season.
- Advance notice will be given to nearby residents, and temporary traffic signals will be in place.
- A second notice of construction will be issued once paving operations to begin.
- Start date: Summer 2024

- Project Cost: Phase 1 - $1,280,000 & Phase 2 - $1,692,857.53
