The County of Wetaskiwin is pleased to announce that construction in Alder Flats is now complete.
This project involved road condition upgrades to various locations in Alder Flats, including reconstruction and grading, improvements to the road base and surface, paving, and enhancements to drainage and ditching to support long-term performance. These improvements will provide a safer, smoother, and more reliable transportation route for residents, businesses, and visitors in the area.
The County extends its appreciation to our crews, contractors, and the Alder Flats community for their patience and cooperation throughout construction. This collaboration helped ensure the successful delivery of an important infrastructure project.
- As this is a grading project, the sidewalk and one or two traffic lanes may be closed at times. Drivers will be required to reduce speed and be prepared to stop.
- When one lane is closed, a flag person will direct traffic. If two lanes are closed, an on-site detour road will be provided.
- Drivers may experience discomfort due to rough road conditions and dust during the construction season.
- Advance notice will be given to nearby residents, and temporary traffic signals will be in place.
- A second notice of construction will be issued once paving operations to begin.
- Start date: Summer 2024
