The County of Wetaskiwin received an anonymous private donation of $91,000 to support the Solar Installation Grant Program. No funding for this initiative was provided by any level of government. This initiative aims to assist residential property owners in accessing grant funds for installing a solar PV system, ultimately reducing their electricity expenses. Qualified applicants can receive $6,500 to install a minimum 5 kW solar PV system on their property, covering both the purchase and installation costs with the awarded grant money.
The Society for Joint Economic Development Initiatives (JEDI) will manage the grant Program on behalf of the County of Wetaskiwin.
