[ARCHIVED] Organizational Meeting Update

Organizational Meeting

During the annually held Organizational Meeting on October 17, 2023, County of Wetaskiwin Council elected Josh Bishop, Division 4 Councillor, to serve as Reeve and Kathy Rooyakkers, Division 6 Councillor, to serve as Deputy Reeve for the next year.

“It is an honour to serve in the position of Reeve and I would like to thank Council for their continued support,” said Reeve Bishop. “It does take time to build up the relationships you need in order to move projects ahead and I'm glad that I’ll have the opportunity to continue leading us to where we need to go.  There is still much work to be done and I'm eager to complete the projects we have started. There is a renewed excitement on Council as we are also starting to see legacy files being completed. We will continue improving the organization and look forward to a successful year ahead.”

Deputy Reeve Rooyakkers said “It is an honor and a privilege to continue serving as Deputy Reeve for the County of Wetaskiwin. I look forward to the year ahead, with many changes that will benefit our County and its residents.”

The Organizational Meeting, conducted yearly in October, serves as the platform where officials are elected to the roles of Reeve and Deputy Reeve and assigned to various boards and committees for the upcoming year.

The complete list of committee appointments can be viewed on the County website at Organizational Results
