Due to high rainfall the County of Wetaskiwin’s Winfield Lagoon is at full capacity. The Utilities Department will be performing an emergency discharge of the Winfield Lagoon. Emergency discharge will begin July 8, 2020 at approximately 18:00. The Utilities operations team will be monitoring the flow along Poplar Creek to ensure no flooding occurs. Residents along Poplar Creek are encouraged to check for flooding during this time. If you do notice flooding please contact 780-352-0005. Sandbags will be made available to residents needing them. Emergency sampling is being performed to monitor water effluent quality.
