Watersheds in the County of Wetaskiwin

There are seven major watersheds or river basins in Alberta.  A watershed is, or river basin is an area of land that catches precipitation and drains into a water body, such as a marsh, lake, stream or river.  Watersheds can range in size from a few hectares to thousands of square kilometers.  The County of Wetaskiwin is located in the North Saskatchewan River Basin.  The Battle River is a sub-basin of the North Sashatchewan River Basin.
